Sleep Lab

Sleep Lab

If your spouse’s snoring has been keeping you awake at night, you might ask your doctor about the benefits of a sleep study from Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center (NMRMC).

Sleep studies help your doctor diagnose disorders such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome.

At Neosho Memorial, we offer the convenience of at-home or in-facility sleep studies depending upon your individual medical needs.

During the study, a series of electrodes are placed on the patient’s head, chest and face before going to bed. During the night, machines record brain and muscle activity, eye movement, heart rate, breathing, air flow, and blood oxygen levels. These results can help in the diagnosis of a sleep-related disorder. Studies may be completed at-home or in our sleep lab depending upon the individual's needs.

It is a fact, he person you sleep with may notice a sleep disorder well before you do. Symptoms of a sleep disorder may include:

  • Excessive snoring
  • Extended breathing pauses during sleep
  • Choking sensations
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Extreme irritability
  • Forgetfulness.

If you have any of these symptoms, tell your provider and see if a sleep study may help you.
