Neosho Memorial Recognized as One of the Cleanest Hospitals in the U.S.

Chanute, Kansas – April 23, 2025 – Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center (NMRMC) is proud to announce its selection to Becker’s Hospital Review magazine’s prestigious list of the 374 Cleanest Hospitals in the United States. This national recognition highlights NMRMC’s unwavering commitment to maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for patients and visitors.

The list was developed using data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. With nearly 2 million participants, the survey evaluates patient experiences across multiple areas—including hospital cleanliness, staff communication, and overall satisfaction. Neosho Memorial ranked in the top 8% of hospitals nationwide.

“We are honored to be recognized among the nation’s cleanest hospitals,” said Wendy Brazil, CEO of Neosho Memorial. “There are over 6,000 hospitals in the United States, and Neosho Memorial was one of only 15 Kansas facilities to make the list.”

“This achievement reflects the outstanding work of our Environmental Services team and all staff members who are dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for our patients and their families,” Brazil added.

As part of its commitment to excellence, Neosho Memorial consistently evaluates and enhances its cleaning protocols, staff training programs, and patient feedback systems to exceed industry standards.

Holly De La Torre, Director of Environmental Services (EVS) at NMRMC, received special recognition for her leadership. “The credit goes to my staff,” Delatorre said. “They are out there every day doing the work. My team is incredibly dedicated to the patients we serve.”
