Home Health Agency
The Home Health Agency at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center provides a complete range of medical care and support services for the families of southeast Kansas. Health care professionals bring medical resources available in the hospital into the homes of residents in a 25-mile radius around Chanute, including towns in Neosho, Allen, Wilson and Woodson counties.
Our services are available to all age groups and include:
- Professional nursing.
- IV therapy.
- Physical, occupational and speech therapy.
- Laboratory services.
- Wound care.
- Catheter and ostomy care.
- Diabetes care and education.
- Assistance with feeding tubes.
- Personal care, including assistance with grooming, bathing and dressing.
- Medical social services.
The goal of home health care is to preserve as much independence as possible without sacrificing quality of life or proper medical care. Home health also provides primary caregivers with some rest and break time. The patient’s doctor will assist with the decision to request home health care, so feel free to discuss it with him or her at any time.
Horizon Hospice
Horizon Hospice is a Medicare-certified home health service that combines the support of volunteers with medical professionals to offer families the option of caring for their terminally-ill loved one in their own home.
A program of Neosho Memorial’s Home Health Agency, Horizon Hospice provides care and support to those who no longer benefit from curative treatment and have limited life expectancy. Hospice care is designed to provide comfort and support for both the patient and the family, and it addresses the two greatest fears of most dying people: the fear of pain and the fear of dying alone. Horizon Hospice provides care in the home, hospital or nursing home, and our staff works to improve the quality of life that remains.
